Series 2 of record group 72-97 consists of the record of the lake and stream survey (1926-1928), originally conducted by the Michigan Department of Conservation, Fish Division. Comprised of examination sheets, field notes and date, summary sheets on 5x8 index cards. Information includes: name of lake or stream; county; name of nearest railroad and trunkline road; kind of prevailing fish in immediate drainage; character of water supply; degree flooded in spring; report on pollution; water color, siltiness, etc.; kind of vegetation and animal life; length and depth of lake; species of fish noted; whether posted and by whom; name of investigator; and other such information.
